Design information

The creation of this cookbook was driven by a passion for reinventing a beloved dish - momos into a healthier, more accessible form while preserving the authenticity and warmth of traditional recipes. I sought to innovate by developing maida-free alternatives, incorporating wholesome ingredients such as whole wheat and millet flour for the wrappers, and crafting flavorful yet nutritious fillings. To ensure that the recipes stayed true to the heart of this dish,, while also keeping in mind the indian palate, as its for an indian audience I conducted extensive research, collaborating with chefs and home cooks, learning from their expertise and culinary insights. This process allowed me to balance traditional techniques with modern, health-conscious substitutions, resulting in recipes that offer both indulgence and nourishment.

Drawing inspiration from my grandmother’s kitchen, each recipe in this cookbook is infused with a sense of heritage and care, reflecting a commitment to delivering comfort food that aligns with today’s wellness-conscious lifestyle. As part of this project, I also illustrated the cookbook, translating the essence of that recipe through the ingredients going into it specifically, i kept the colors bright and attention seeking keeping in mind the target audience . ' I even personalized this entire process by character sketching ‘Aaji’, the mascot per say, of a grandmother, for the young audience to build familiarity.
