Design information

For a local florist startup Vanya, that specializes in rare and traditional flowers, I was tasked with creating a brand identity that would resonate with its niche market while reflecting its unique positioning as an online-first, small-scale business. The brand specifically requested a hand-painted watercolor aesthetic, aiming for a visual language that conveyed freshness, serenity, and elegance. To anchor the visual identity, I selected the Himalayan Blue Poppy (Meconopsis betonicifolia) as the central flower motif. This rare and stunning flower, also known as the national flower of Western Arunachal Pradesh and the "queen of Himalayan flowers," embodies rarity, beauty, and grace.

The flower’s delicate blue hues and ethereal nature provided the perfect foundation for the brand’s identity. The logo design integrates the floral element in a fluid, organic composition, where the the blue poppies are stylized into the shape of the letter "V" representing the brand’s initials. The use of watercolor techniques ensures a soft, hand-painted feel, aligning with the brand's desire for a natural, refined, and artisanal look. The color palette remains subtle and calming, drawing inspiration from the soft blues and greens of the flower, creating a harmonious and inviting visual experience.
